How much does online tutoring cost per month?
Four one-hour lessons a month costs £120 pay as you go, £110 on a three-month term plan, or £100 on a twelve-month annual plan. The longer the commitment, the lower the per-lesson rate, nothing else changes between the plans.

Plenty of agencies charge more for A-Level Maths than for KS3 English. We don't. A tutor's hour is a tutor's hour.
Every level, one rate
Does the price change by subject or level?
No. KS3, GCSE, A-Level and Functional Skills Level 2 all cost the same £30 a lesson, and every subject is charged at that rate. Maths, English, the Sciences, Computer Science and Religious Studies are priced identically.

The wider market
How much do UK tutors charge on average?
Published UK averages for one-to-one tutoring sit at roughly £37 to £38 an hour. Tutorful reports a platform average of £37.45, and a Parentkind/YouGov survey reported by The Times put the average at £37.50. Our standard rate is £30, and £25 on the annual plan.
Across a full year of weekly lessons, the gap adds up. Forty-eight lessons at the £37.50 average comes to £1,800. The same forty-eight lessons on our annual plan cost £1,200.
We're not the cheapest option in the country and we won't pretend to be. Tutoring marketplaces list tutors from around £15 an hour, usually students or new tutors building a profile. Specialist A-Level Maths tutors with strong degrees regularly charge £60 or more.
Our rate sits deliberately below the mainstream average while keeping lessons one-to-one, hand-matched and tied to the student's exam board. Where you land in that spread is a judgement call, and it should be an informed one.

Payment and flexibility
How does payment actually work?
The trial is free and takes no card details. After that, plans are billed monthly in advance, £120, £110 or £100 depending on the plan. Term and annual plans commit you to the block of lessons in exchange for the lower rate.
Nothing is paid before the trial
You meet the tutor for 30 minutes first. No card details, no deposit, no obligation to book a single lesson afterwards. If the match is wrong, that's the end of it and it costs you nothing.
Billed monthly, in advance
Lessons are paid for at the start of each month, not lesson by lesson. You'll know the exact amount before the first payment leaves your account, and it doesn't change mid-plan.
Pay as you go has no lock-in
Stop at the end of any month, for any reason, without explaining yourself. That flexibility is precisely what the extra £2.50 and £5 a lesson is buying you.
Rescheduling is free with notice
Life happens. Give the tutor 24 hours' notice and the lesson moves at no cost. Missed lessons without notice can't usually be recovered, because the tutor has already held and prepared the slot.
Changing tutor costs nothing
If the fit turns out wrong three weeks in, tell us and we'll rematch. You don't restart a plan, lose lessons or pay a fee. Fit matters more in one-to-one teaching than in any other format.
Holidays can be paused
Tell us before the next billing date and we'll pause a plan around school holidays or exams, moving the lessons rather than losing them. If circumstances change entirely, talk to us, we'd rather sort it than argue about it.

Choosing
Which plan should you pick?
Most families take the trial, run a month pay as you go, then move onto a term plan once they can see it's working. There's no advantage to committing before you know.
Take pay as you go if…
You're testing whether tutoring helps at all, exams are close and you only need a short burst, or the schedule is genuinely unpredictable this term. £120 a month, walk away whenever.
Take the term plan if…
There's a specific target, mocks in January, finals in May, a resit in November — and you know roughly how long the run-up is. Three months is long enough for a grade to actually move.
Take the annual plan if…
You're supporting a full GCSE or A-Level year, or rebuilding foundations at KS3 where there's no quick fix. It's the cheapest per lesson by some distance and removes the monthly decision.

Are there any hidden or extra fees?
No. There's no registration fee, no matching fee, no platform charge and no premium for harder subjects or higher levels. The lesson price includes the tutor's preparation, marking and your progress feedback.
Does A-Level cost more than GCSE or KS3?
No. Every level is charged at the same rate, including Functional Skills Level 2, GCSE resits and A-Level. Many agencies charge a premium for advanced subjects; we price a tutor's hour the same whoever is being taught.
How and when do I pay?
Plans are billed monthly in advance, after the free trial. You'll see the exact amount and the terms before any payment is taken, and the price doesn't change part-way through a plan.
Can I cancel or pause a plan?
Pay as you go can be stopped at the end of any month with no explanation needed. Term and annual plans commit you to the block of lessons in return for the lower rate, but tell us before the next billing date and we'll pause around holidays or exams so lessons move rather than disappear.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Give the tutor 24 hours' notice and it reschedules free of charge. Lessons missed without notice usually can't be recovered, because the slot was held and prepared for you.
Can we have more than one lesson a week?
Yes. The published plans are built on four lessons a month, which is one a week. If you want two a week, or a heavier block before exams, contact us and we'll confirm the cost before you commit to anything.
What if we don't like the tutor?
Tell us and we'll rematch at no cost. You don't lose lessons, restart a plan or pay a fee. In one-to-one teaching the fit between tutor and student matters more than anywhere else, and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
Is online tutoring cheaper than in-person?
Usually, though not always. Online tutors avoid travel time and costs, which tends to be reflected in the rate. Published UK averages put mainstream one-to-one tutoring at roughly £37–£38 an hour, so at £30 or £25 on the annual plan — our lessons sit below the typical market rate.
Do you offer discounts for siblings or referrals?
Ask us. Sibling and referral arrangements are handled case by case rather than as a fixed published discount, so message us with the details and we'll tell you what's possible before you book.
