What can I download?
AQA GCSE Physics (8463) is live at both tiers. Pick the tier your child is sitting, then choose a learning book to learn a topic or an exam practice book to practise it.
AQA 8463
Foundation, grades 1 to 5: eight learning books with 108 lessons and eight exam practice books. Higher, grades 4 to 9: eight learning books with 111 lessons, including the Higher-only content, and eight exam practice books. Every book has worked answers.
Taking Combined Science?
Combined Science Trilogy covers seven of the eight physics topics, without Space Physics and some physics-only content. It has its own learning books and exam workbooks, numbered by the Trilogy topics 18 to 24.
Not sure which board or course?
Check the front of a mock paper or ask the science department. Triple science students sit GCSE Physics, and double award students sit Combined Science.
These books are written for AQA. Edexcel and OCR teach much of the same physics but set different papers, so use their own past papers for exam practice.
| Paper | Topics | Time and marks |
|---|---|---|
| Paper 1 | 1 Energy, 2 Electricity, 3 Particle model of matter, 4 Atomic structure | 1 hour 45 minutes, 100 marks, 50% of the GCSE |
| Paper 2 | 5 Forces, 6 Waves, 7 Magnetism and electromagnetism, 8 Space physics | 1 hour 45 minutes, 100 marks, 50% of the GCSE |
Both papers are sat at Foundation or Higher tier and use multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response questions.
More is on the way. We are working day and night on carefully researched guides and resources built to genuinely move grades, and we have decided to share everything here free, so every student can use them and push for their best result, whether they study with us or not.
Need more than practice?
Free books do the practice. A tutor fixes the method
Five of our tutors teach Physics, led by a doctorate in Physics and two engineering degrees, and several teach Maths as well. Lessons are one to one on Zoom, £30 each, and the first 30 minutes are free with no card details.
