Which programme fits the learner right now?

Often the right route for adults returning to study after time away from education.

Check the exact entry requirement with your employer, apprenticeship provider, college or university first. Functional Skills is not accepted in place of a GCSE in every situation.

Focused GCSE support

GCSE tutoring, revision or resit: which one?

Ongoing GCSE tutoring runs across the year. Revision tutoring is for a learner with an exam approaching who needs prioritising and technique. Resit tutoring starts from a result that already happened. Same subject, three different plans.

This is the choice families get wrong most often, usually by booking general tutoring six weeks before a paper when they needed revision tutoring, or by booking revision tutoring for a retake when the previous result should be driving the plan.

A KS3 lesson and an A-Level lesson cost the same. We do not price by level, because a Year 8 student who has lost confidence needs just as much of a tutor's attention as a Year 13 student working towards an offer.

Cancellation and rescheduling terms are stated before you pay anything, and we confirm the tutor, day, time and payment schedule before the first paid lesson.

Which programme is right for a Year 9 student?

It depends on what the school is teaching. Many Year 9 students still need KS3 foundation support, while some schools start GCSE courses in Year 9. Send us the subjects, current topics and course information and we will tell you which is the better starting point.

What is the difference between GCSE tutoring and GCSE revision tutoring?

GCSE tutoring is ongoing subject support across Year 10 and 11. Revision tutoring is focused on an approaching mock or final paper, using weak-topic prioritising, exam questions, timing and a revision plan. A learner can move from one into the other as the exam gets closer.

What is the difference between revision and resit tutoring?

Revision tutoring supports a learner preparing for their current course. Resit tutoring is for someone retaking after a previous result, and that result, the grade they now need and the next sitting should all shape the plan.

Do you support adult learners?

Yes. Functional Skills Level 2 and GCSE resit support both suit adults, apprentices and college learners. Which one is right depends on the qualification your employer, training provider, college or university actually requires.

What if I do not know the exam board or tier?

Ask the school, college or exam centre if you can. You can still book the free trial without it, but the correct specification and tier need confirming before a detailed plan is agreed.

How much do the programmes cost?

Are lessons one-to-one or group sessions?

All six programmes on this page are live one-to-one online tutoring. That is the whole service, and it is why a student can stop a lesson to ask something they would never ask in front of a class.

Can a learner move between programmes?

Yes, and it is common. A Year 11 student on ongoing GCSE tutoring often shifts into a revision-focused phase as mocks approach. Tell us when the goal changes and we will change the plan.
