Is it too late for revision tutoring to help?
Almost never, but what it can achieve changes. With a term left a grade can move several places. With a week left the useful work is clearing one blocking topic or fixing how long answers are structured. We will tell you honestly what the remaining time can realistically do.
Do you have revision tutors available at the moment?
Usually, though availability tightens sharply from January and again in the final term, when evening slots go first. If your child needs support before mocks or before summer papers, enquire earlier than feels necessary.
Can we book just one lesson?
Yes, and sometimes that is genuinely all that is needed. Pay as you go has no minimum, so a single session before a mock to clear one topic is a perfectly reasonable thing to book, and we will not push you towards a plan.
Can lessons focus only on weak topics?
Yes, and in revision season that is usually the whole point. Most students already know roughly where the problem is. The free session confirms it properly, then lessons work on those areas rather than covering the syllabus again.
Do you use past papers and mark schemes?
Yes, from your child's own exam board and tier. Doing past papers without marking them against the scheme is one of the most common ways revision time gets wasted, so the marking is where most of the value sits.
Which subjects do you cover?
Maths, English, Combined and separate Sciences, Computer Science and Religious Studies. We do not teach History, Geography, Business Studies or Modern Languages, and we would rather say so than take a booking we cannot serve properly.
Do you cover our exam board and tier?
We cover AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC with Eduqas, at both Foundation and Higher tier. Send the board and tier when you enquire, or the specification code from a past paper if you are unsure.
My child revises for hours but nothing improves. Why?
Usually direction rather than effort. Rereading notes feels productive and teaches very little, and past papers done without marking do not show what went wrong. The most common single cause at grade 5 and above is knowing the content but writing answers that do not earn the marks.
How do you decide which tutor we get?
Someone reads your enquiry and matches on subject, exam board, tier, how much time is left and what is actually going wrong. You get one name and the reason for it, not a shortlist to compare.
How much does it cost?
£30 for a 60-minute lesson, dropping to £27.50 on a three-month term plan and £25 on an annual plan. Twice-weekly lessons in the final term are the same rate per lesson. No sign-up fee.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. Thirty minutes with the tutor we have matched, live on Zoom, with no card details and no obligation. The tutor works through questions with your child rather than asking what the problem is, because students rarely know.
My child is panicking. Will tutoring make it worse?
Usually the opposite. Much of exam anxiety comes from not knowing where to start, and a clear plan for the time left removes a good deal of that. One to one also means nobody else is watching when they get something wrong.
